Makayla is finally cast free! She got her cast off today but before it happened we took a few pictures of it so she can remember all the signatures.

This was another girl from school that was there to get her cast off at the same time. Funny thing is that her name is also Makayla (she does spell it differently though).

The doctor was in surgery when we got there so we had to sit and wait for a LONG time. Finally we gave up and went down to the cafeteria to get a snack. As soon as we got it and sat at a table they paged us up to the room. The kids had to sit and eat their ice cream in there.

Finally it was time to cut the cast off!

She had to sit and wait for the doctor some more to get the pins taken out. Here are what they looked like

They did an x-ray to make sure that everything looked okay and it did. Good news! Makayla really didn't want to have another cast put on again. She still has to take it easy and not do anything that she may fall down and break it again. Also she has to really work on building the strength up again and bending and straitening her arm. On the drive home we had the windows rolled down and she made a comment about how weird it felt to have the wind blow against it. Cute! Makayla is so excited to be able to finally go swimming and spend time at the lake soon.
