We went with red for the dining room - something that I've always wanted to have was red in the house. Having four kids also means having four helpers. Sometimes that can get old but we try to let them help - even with the paint. For the sitting room we picked a Khaki color. The walls had a little bit of tan already in them but with the white trim and crown molding I wanted to darken it up a bit so that it would pop the white. We had a little problem with the paint though. We bought a sample of the color we wanted and liked it. When we went and bought the 2 gallons of paint and opened them - they didn't look quite right. Sure enough it wasn't the same. We didn't like what they gave us. So Hans had to go back and luckily they took it back and remixed us some more paint by matching the sample they gave us the first time. It still wasn't quite the same, but it worked out just fine.
The red took quite a while to paint and we ended up taking a break from the painting. We didn't even get started on the Khaki that day
