Easter Weekend

Aunt Holly and Uncle Dan (and little Cosmo) came to visit us for the Easter Weekend. We had such a great time. They got here around noon on Friday. We went to check out one of the Metro Parks here because it is supposed to be full of all kinds of bulbs in bloom. I think it was a little cooler this year because the bulbs were coming up but not all in bloom yet. Still we had fun walking around the park. We also headed down by the river and the kids had fun throwing some rocks.Of course Gavin had to find a giant rock to throw.
After checking out the water for a while we walked around a little lake. After going around most of it Hans was sure that we could make it all the way around the lake. From where we were it looked like the water ended and it was trees and kind of swampy area. Hans said he saw a bridge so there must be a way around so we went for it and finished walking all the way around it (okay it may not have been that big but we for sure thought we'd have to go back the way we came). Once we got over to that side of the lake we found that there was no bridge. Instead of going back the way we came the guys talked us all into going for it. Parts of it wasn't too bad - just a little muddy. But other areas were pretty wet. The guys built us little bridges with branches and we made it through it.After crossing our man-made branch bridges we saw this start to a bridge. This was actually what Hans saw from the other side of the water and figured that it was a bridge to something - but no - it was a bridge to nowhere.

Some other highlights from the weekend were that we had a fun campfire in the back yard and got to enjoy some singing and guitar playing. We also played Sing Star and had a lot of fun with that.
And we also got to color our Easter Eggs!! It is always tons of fun doing it and trying to see how creative the kids can be with it.

Saturday I also did my first 5 mile run. It felt really long but I ran the whole thing. Pretty exciting.

More to come for Easter Sunday
