Back to School

The kids started school again on Tuesday, September 2nd. They were all excited to get up and put on their new clothes for the first day back. Tristen set his alarm for 7 am to make sure he was up in plenty of time. He had lots of extra time since his clock was an hour fast and he really got up at 6 am.

Tristen is in 3rd grade. He had the same teacher for 1st and 2nd grade so this year he got a new one, Mrs. Hill. She is very nice. He was worried about the change but when he came home after the first day he told me about how nice she is. He is enjoying seeing his friends from last year and also making some new ones.

Makayla is in 2nd grade this year. She got Tristen's old teacher. She is wonderful! Makayla loves Mrs. Clark and has been looking forward to being in her class. She has so many of her friends in class with her and I have to remind her to be good and not talk too much.

Savannah is in the 4 year old preschool. We were sad to see that her teacher from last year wouldn't be teaching preschool in the morning, but Savannah is loving her new teacher. She loves school. She gets to ride the bus to and from school (because she is still in speech therapy). She goes 3 days a week now for half a day.

Gavin started preschool this year!! He is loving ever minute of it. He goes twice a week. He takes his backpack everywhere. I had to laugh to myself when I took him on his first day. Parents were everywhere and since it is a preschool class most of them sit with their kids for a while to make sure they are okay. Some kids cry and so do some parents. I on the other hand take him in to his class and make sure he gets his stuff put away but then he goes and sits down to start playing. He looks up at me and says "Bye Mom" (fairly loud) as he waves. It felt good to walk out knowing that he wants to be there.
